Temporary Food Business - Streatrader
For food sold or served at community events such as festivals, markets, single temporary stalls, fetes or sausage sizzles, an application must be submitted via Streatrader.
Streatrader is a new online system developed in partnership by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Municipal Association of Victoria.
There is no fee for applications from not-for-profit organisations, community groups and registered food businesses. Registered food businesses must submit a copy of their current Certificate of Registration under the Food Act 1984 with their application.
You may also require a Local Laws permit for street stalls. Contact our Local Laws Unit on 8290 3507 for more information.
If your event is part of a large community event or festival on public grounds, you must also contact our Events Unit on 8290 1130.
All cooking, including cooking on barbecues, is strictly prohibited on public footpaths unless approval is granted by our Local Laws Unit.
