Upcoming CitiPower works - Tuesday 13 March
CitiPower will be working on Cato Street from Wednesday 14 March to Friday 16 March as part of works to underground power throughout the area.

Overnight works in area - Thursday 1 February
South East Water will undertake overnight works on Cato Street, Wattle Street and Izett Street from Sunday 4 February to Wednesday 7 February to replace sewer mains. These are taking place at night to limit the effect on the local traffic.

Free parking shuttle bus on the road - Monday 8 January
The Cato Square free parking shuttle bus is on the road, a week ahead of construction starting on 15 January.
Operating Monday to Saturday on a 40 minute loop the fully accessible bus will link up alternative parking while the Cato Street car park is unavailable. Starting each day at 9am at 33 Chapel Street, Windsor the bus will circuit:
- 33 Chapel Street, Windsor (Windsor Rail Bridge)
- 11 James Street, Windsor (James Street car park)
- 281 Chapel Street, Prahran (Cato Street area)
- 32 Elizabeth Street, South Yarra (Prahran Market)
- 1 Wilson Street, South Yarra (Jam Factory)
- 388 Chapel Street, South Yarra
- 302 Chapel Street, Prahran (Cato Street area)
The last bus for the day will depart 33 Chapel Street, Windsor at 4:10pm.

Kane Constructions will hold their first trader meeting on Thursday 11 January 3-4pm at Prahran Town Hall, (enter via Greville Street), which will include the early schedule of works. This and future meetings will be accompanied by printed updates for traders unable to attend.
An Small Business Mentoring Services mentor will be available in the Cato Square information hub on the corner of Wattle and Izett Street on Wednesday 17 January 10am-2pm to meet with traders interested in their mentoring program.

Kane Constructions has been appointed as the construction company for Cato Square following an extensive tender process, with works to commence on January 15 2018. More information.
Exhibition at Prahran Mechanics' Institute - Tuesday 23 October 2017
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Prahran Mechanics' Institute (PMI) for a lecture on the findings of the archaeological investigation at the Cato Street car park earlier this year, artefacts will be on display at PMI until Friday 3 November. Read more.

CitiPower work to underground power - Friday 29 September 2017
As part of preparation for the construction of Cato Square, CitiPower are undertaking preliminary works to underground power in the area. These works commenced on Wednesday 30 September with some possible short term changes to parking and traffic conditions on Izett, Chatham, Cato and Wattle streets. Read more.

Prahran's history on display - Wednesday 13 September 2017
Earlier this year, the Cato Street carpark in Prahran was the site of an archaeological investigation ahead of the commencement of construction of Cato Square, the City of Stonnington’s exciting new urban redevelopment, scheduled for January 2018.
Some of the most significant artefacts will be on display at Prahran Mechanics’ Institute Victorian History Library from Thursday 19 October until Friday 3 November. There will also be a free public lecture from Dr Michelle Negus Cleary about her team’s findings and learnings from the site at 7pm on Thursday 19 October. Read more.

Information for traders and businesses - Thursday 17 August 2017
A dedicated webpage has been established for traders and businesses surrounding the Cato Street car park with information about the upcoming construction of Cato Square.
The Cato Square information hub on the corner of Wattle and Izett Streets will be open 10am - 4pm every Tuesday from 29 August until 10 October as a contact point for traders to see Council’s plans and ask questions. No appointments are necessary.

First meeting of trader reference group - Monday 31 July 2017
The first meeting of the Cato Square trader reference group took place on Thursday 27 July. Council has established the trader reference group to keep traders informed, maintain a line of communication and develop strategies to promote businesses in the area during construction. Archaeological search underway for historical remains in Prahran – Monday 10 April 2017
Cato Street carpark in Prahran has become the site of an archaeological investigation ahead of the City of Stonnington’s recently announced landmark new urban redevelopment, Cato Square.
Archaeologists from Dr Vincent Clark and Associates will spend up to the next two months on the site looking for significant archaeological remains of 19th century housing believed to be preserved beneath the present car park.

Cato Square Officially Launched – Tuesday 21 March 2017
On Tuesday 21 March, we officially launched our amazing project. We heard from our Mayor, CEO and Architects about how this visionary project will create a magnificent new urban park as well as provide 20 per cent more car spaces via an underground two-level car park. The Mayor, Cr Jami Klisaris officially cut the ribbon to the Information Hub in front of a number of our key stakeholders. Check out our video from the launch.
