A Christmas celebration for the whole family, with craft activities and unique performances for the kids until 7pm, including face painting, roving performers, and a special slapstick circus performance by Trash Test Dummies

Carols follow for those who can stay up a little later at 7.30pm, hosted by musical theatre legend Chelsea Plumley, featuring Bert LaBonte, Andrew Strano and The Candy Topps, with Musical Direction from John Thorn

Supported by Stonnington City Brass and South of the River Choir.

Coinciding with the International Day of People with Disability, all performances will be Auslan-interpreted – Santa can sign too!

PROGRAM

5pm - 7pm                             Kid’s Program featuring activities including Facepaint by Children, Christmas decoration making with SmartArt, storytelling and craft activities with Stonnington Libraries, and visits from Santa – who can also sign Auslan! Hosted by Andrew Strano.
 5.45pm   Dancing Queen Parties – Interactive dance performance, with brand-new characters Honey Hip Hop and Charlee Cheerleader making their debut!
 6.30pm   Trash Test Dummies – A special Christmas show commissioned especially for Stonnington
 7.30pm   Carols Concert - Featuring Chelsea Plumley, Andrew Strano, Bert LaBonte, The Candy Topps, South of the River Choir and Stonnington City Brass.


In recognition of International Day of People with Disability, this event will be Auslan interpreted: Roving interpreters will be available throughout the children’s activities, and all performances will be Auslan interpreted or suitable for both hearing and hearing impaired audiences. Auslan interpretation is by Auslan Stage Left.

CAROLS ARTISTS

Andrew Strano   Andrew Strano is a director, writer, lyricist, improviser, cabaret artist and musical theatre performer. He has toured nationally and internationally and qualified twice as a semi-finalist for the Rob Guest Endowment Award. Alongside composer Loclan Mackenzie-Spencer, Andrew opened Nailed It! to critical acclaim, touring to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015 where they performed a sold out season to standing ovations. He has performed improv professionally since 2012, including on the Annoyance & iO theatre stages in Chicago, and was nominated for Best Comedy as a part of the Improv Conspiracy’s touring company’s Perth Fringeworld season in 2015.  
     
Chelsea Plumley   Chelsea Plumley is a multi-talented award-winning stage, cabaret and television actor. Her musical theatre roles include Amy in Company, Rizzo in Grease, Lyn in Breast Wishes, Jolene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers – for which she received Greenroom Award nominations – Betty in Sunset Boulevard, Lalume in Kismet, Marge MacDougall in Promises Promises and Miss Adelaide in Guys & Dolls. Most recently, she starred as Gabby/Bobbi in the City of Angels. She has toured her one-woman cabaret shows internationally and hosted the worldwide phenomenon Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music for thirteen years. Her television credits include Channel TEN’s I Will Survive, Offspring and as the ‘Queen of the Fairies’ in children’s television program, William and Sparkles’ Magical Tales.  
     
Bert LaBonte   Bert LaBonté is one of Australia’s leading men of stage, known for a variety of shows including I Am a Miracle, Birdland, Timeshare, The Good Person of Szechwan, Let’s Get It On, When I Fall in Love - The Nat King Cole Story, The Mountaintop (Green Room Award Nominee) and original cast member of Rupert (MTC and Washington US Tour). His musical theatre credits include High Society, An Officer and a Gentleman (Helpmann Award Winner), Pippin, Full Monty, and Guys and Dolls. He’s also appeared on screen in Animal Kingdom, and on TV in Winners and Losers, Upper Middle Bogan, City Homicide and Neighbours.
     
The-Candy-Topps   The Candy Topps burst onto the cabaret scene in 2009 as part of Redroom Theatre Company’s highly acclaimed vaudeville revue show The Petticoat Soiree. Since then, they have been delighting audiences of all ages with their decadently tight harmonies and cheeky social commentaries. The Candy Topps have performed for countless corporate and private events, as well as their original feature cabaret show Sing Happy. Most recently, the ladies created and performed their return cabaret show Femme Fatale, which received rave reviews as a headline act for The Butterfly Club’s 2015 Melbourne Fringe Festival program.
