Learn to Swim Levels
Infant lessons are the ideal opportunity to introduce your child to the water in a fun and educational environment. They focus on water familiarisation skills such as submersion, floatation and movement; as well as fundamental water safety skills and parent/child bonding in the water. Lessons are designed to develop these skills through fun activities, games and songs – so warm up those voices!
All infant classes are 30 minutes in duration and are held in the Hydro pool which is heated to a pleasant 34 degrees. Each class has eight children and parents with one instructor.
- Angelfish (6 to 12 months)
- Rainbowfish (12 to 24 months)
- Clownfish (24 to 36 months)
Children aged three years and above are enrolled into lessons without a parent in the water with them. Each Learn-to-Swim level comprises of competitive swimming strokes and essential water safety skills. Lessons are 30 minutes in duration.
Preschool lessons are 30 minutes in duration and are conducted in the learners pool which is heated to 32 degrees. Each class has four children with one instructor.
Lessons for school-aged children are conducted in the indoor 25m pool which is heated to 30 degrees. Seahorse and Squid maybe conducted in the learners pool depending on the age of the students. Dolphin and Shark are conducted in the 50m outdoor pool heated to 27 degrees. Sizes of these classes will vary depending on the level. Please see below for class sizes.

It's never too late to learn how to swim! We offer beginner, intermediate and advance lessons for adults. Our adult lessons do not require an assessment; however, the following descriptions may be used as a guide to assist you with enrolment into the correct level. All adult lessons are conducted in the indoor 25m pool, heated to 30 degrees and are 30 minutes in duration. Each class has a maximum of 8 adults.
Beginner lessons are suitable for adults who have limited to no water experience or confidence.
Intermediate lessons are suitable for adults who are confident in the water, are comfortable going underwater, but have no stroke knowledge.
Advanced lessons are suitable for adults who can swim at least 25m of freestyle and backstroke and wish to work on stroke development.
Adults who are comfortably able to swim a minimum of 1km are encouraged to join our adult lap swimming club 'Fitswim', which is conducted in our outdoor 50m pool. Please refer to our Fitness Class Timetable for more information.
