Physical activity classes

The City of Stonnington’s physical activity classes provide residents with an opportunity to get active through a range of free activities. Classes cater for people of all abilities, are facilitated by qualified instructors and are free to attend. No bookings are required.

Participants are required to provide their own water and fitness mat on the day. Please arrive ten minutes early for classes and wear comfortable clothes. 

Physical activity classes run each week in accordance with the Victorian state school terms. 

Term 2 classes will run from 16 April to 29 June 2018 (indoors)
Term 3 classes will run from 16 July to 21 September 2018 (indoors)
Term 4 classes will run from 8 October to 21 December 2018 (outdoors)



Classes encourage you to return to your body and focus your mind. Each class includes asanas to increase flexibility and strength with an emphasis on breathing and relaxation.

Qigong **Please note: this class will not be scheduled for the remainder of Term 2. Classes will resume in Term 3 on Wednesday 18 July.

Qigong integrates slow graceful movements, stillness, inner awareness and creative imagination. Classes are designed to enhance vitality, inner happiness and wellbeing.

Mums and Bubs Fitness

A class for mums to help regain fitness after childbirth, combining cardio, strength and core work. This class will improve general fitness, burn fat, tone muscle and enhance flexibility. Babies and pre-school children are welcome.
