Press Release | 11 October 2017
As Part of the National Ride to Work Day, the annual Ride2Work breakfast will be held on Wednesday 18 October on the Chapel Street concourse in front of Prahran Town Hall.
From 6.45am to 9am, the City of Stonnington will be serving a complimentary breakfast, coffee and hot chocolate to celebrate and encourage riders who commute to work via Chapel Street and throughout Stonnington.
Commuters will be provided with bicycle parking on-site and can also have a free check-up by a bicycle mechanic.
The City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Jami Klisaris said “We would like to encourage Stonnington residents to be healthy and active by getting on their bike and enjoying a ride to work.”
“There are many benefits of riding to work such as helping to lower obesity rates, reducing traffic congestion, it is good for the environment and it’s also a wonderful form of exercise” said Mayor Klisaris.
The Ride2Work breakfast is the biggest commuting celebration in the country, with over 65,000 riders having registered and participated nationally last year.
