Searching for Stonnington centenarians

Press Release | 16 May 2017

The achievements and contributions of Stonnington’s oldest residents will be honoured at the 100 Good Reasons to Celebrate with the Mayor special event on Friday 21 July at Malvern Town Hall.

If you, or someone you know, turns 100 on or before 21 July 2017, the City of Stonnington wants to hear from you.

The City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Jami Klisaris, said that turning 100 is an outstanding milestone and every year she looks forward to hearing the stories of and celebrating our amazing centenarians.

“Our morning tea acknowledges and celebrates these outstanding Stonnington residents aged 100 or over, and provides an opportunity for our oldest and cherished residents to share their remarkable life stories and achievements, and be recognised for their contribution to our community,” she said.

“We’d like all Stonnington centenarians or their family members to get in touch with us now so that we can meet them and honour them at the morning tea,” she said.

“I’m very much looking forward to hosting 100 Good Reasons to Celebrate with the Mayor and meeting our local centenarians who have contributed so much to making Stonnington a great place to live, work and visit,” added Cr Klisaris.

If you know anyone turning 100 on or before Friday 21 July, please contact Stonnington’s Aged Services on 8290 3224 before 9 June to ensure they are invited to the celebrations. Transport to and from the event can be arranged.
