What's Your Story? Writing Competition

Press Release | 11 August 2017

City of Stonnington is set to host its sixth annual literary festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories, from 16 to 20 November 2017.

The festival, to take place across Stonnington, celebrates the writers, readers and stories of Stonnington, and will feature author talks, panel discussions, writing workshops, children’s activities and more.

Stonnington Libraries will also be running the popular What’s Your Story writing competition in the lead up to the festival.

City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Jami Klisaris said the festival offers an exceptional opportunity for the local community to share its great and unique stories.

“I hope the competition encourages our community to pick up their pens and start writing for a chance to win one of the prizes we have on offer. I also look forward to discovering the writing talent emerge across all ages and categories of Stonnington writers,” said Cr Klisaris.

“Entrants are invited to submit a short story or poem inspired by their own life experiences for a chance to win a raft of prizes,” Cr Klisaris said.

There are five categories: Short Story – Open Age, My MicroMemoir (two different age groups), Poetry – Open Age and What’s Your Story? Photo-story.

Entries for the writing competitions can be submitted online or via post and entries for the photo-storytelling competitions must be submitted online via Instagram.
