Stonnington Carers Forum

'It's OK to care for yourself when you're caring for somebody else'

Caring for someone can be challenging and stressful. Carers, family members and friends who are looking after an older person, someone with a disability, or someone with mental or cognitive health issues, are invited to take part in this year’s City of Stonnington Carers Forum.

SANE Australia will be talking about how to deal with anxiety during difficult times from a carer’s perspective, how to look after yourself, and how to practice self- compassion.

A range of community services will be available on the day to provide information. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Date: Thursday 12 July 2018

Time: 10am - 12:30pm

Venue: Banquet Hall, Malvern Town Hall, corner Glenferrie Road and High Street

How to register: The forum is free to attend and bookings are essential.

Hosting accessible events

A guide for organisers has been developed by the Meetings and Events Industry of Australia in collaboration with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC). The guide can be downloaded here .

This guide is designed to help those responsible for organising events to ensure its accessibility for all people in the community. The guide contains practical information and advice on how to make events accessible for people of all abilities, whether they are presenters, sponsors or participants.
