School based Immunisation Program
Immunisation is offered free to all Year 7 & Year 10 students at schools in the City of Stonnington.
The current school immunisation program includes:
Year 7 students
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) — 2 doses
- Adult Diphtheria-Tetanus-Whooping Cough — 1 dose
Year 10 students
- Meningococcal ACWY - 1 dose
How it works
Parents or guardians will receive a consent card and information about the program from their school at the beginning of the year. If you don't receive this information, contact your school.
Complete the consent card and return card to your school. Make sure you return your consent card even if your child isn't going to be vaccinated. This helps to monitor and protect against these diseases.
Our registered nurses with further qualifications in immunisation will administer the vaccines at the school.
If your child is absent on an immunisation day, we will send you a letter or email about how you can catch up on the missed dose by visiting one of the Council's immunisation sessions or your GP. If you have the dose administered elsewhere, make sure you let us know so we can update your child's record.
For further information, please contact Council's immunisation officer on 8290 3335.
