The Plan guides Council’s vision, direction and provision of services, and focuses on the four key pillars of community, environment, liveability and prosperity.
Stonnington's Strategic Planning Unit is responsible for the development of land use and planning policies and strategies; and administering and reviewing the Stonnington Planning Scheme including amendments to the scheme.
Several Masterplans have been adopted by Stonnington to ensure a consistent vision for a variety of public areas such as parks, ovals and streetscapes.
Council has prepared a 20 year plan to address the important community issue of creating open space in Stonnington, which has the second lowest amount of public open space per capita of all Victorian councils.
