Amendment C212

Malvern Road-Burke Road Activity Centre

The City of Stonnington has prepared Amendment C212 to the Stonnington Planning Scheme. The Amendment applies to the Malvern Road-Burke Road Neighbourhood Activity Centre and part of the rail corridor.

The Amendment proposes to introduce a new Design and Development Overlay (DDO15) to guide built form and height, a new local policy to guide land use, and include the Malvern Road-Burke Road Neighbourhood Activity Centre Urban Design Framework (2014) as a reference document in the Stonnington Planning Scheme.

C212 was exhibited from 12 February to 17 March 2015 and the submission period has now closed.

Council Consideration of Submissions

Council considered a report on all submissions on 20 April 2015. Council resolved to request that the Minister for Planning appoint a Panel to hear submissions and consider the Amendment.

Panel Hearing

A Panel Hearing to consider submissions and the Amendment was held from 29 June - 3 July 2015.

Panel Report

The Panel appointed to consider Amendment C212 recommended adopting the amendment with minor changes. Council considered the Panel Report and adopted Amendment C212 on 5 October 2015. A copy of the Officer’s report and minutes from this meeting can be found in the Council Agenda.


The Minister for Planning approved Amendment C212 on 14 July 2016.
