Heritage Protection for Individual Victorian Houses

The City of Stonnington has prepared Amendment C249 to the Stonnington Planning Scheme.

The Amendment proposes to implement the findings of the Victorian Houses Heritage Study, which recommends the inclusion of fifty-eight individually significant Victorian houses in the Heritage Overlay. These houses are located in Armadale, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Prahran, South Yarra, Toorak and Windsor.

Specifically the Amendment:

  • Varies the Schedule to Clause 43.01 Heritage Overlay to include fifty-eight places with permanent heritage status.
  • Amends Planning Scheme Maps 1HO, 2HO, 3HO, 4HO, 5HO 6HO, 7HO and 9HO to show permanent heritage controls.

Next Steps

A report will be prepared for Council to consider the submissions and, if required, to request an independent Panel to consider the Amendment and submissions.
