Permanent Heritage Controls for two Victorian Places

The City of Stonnington has prepared Amendment C261 to the Stonnington Planning Scheme.

Amendment C261 has been prepared to introduce permanent heritage protection to two Victorian Places:

  • 17-19 Ethel Street, Malvern (HO594)
  • 3 and 5 Avondale Road, Armadale (HO595) 

Specifically the Amendment:

  • Varies the Schedule to Clause 43.01 Heritage Overlay to include HO594 17-19 Ethel Street, Malvern and HO595 3 and 5 Avondale Road, Armadale.
  • Amends Planning Scheme Map 3HO and 6HO to show HO594 and 5HO to show HO595, with permanent heritage controls.


Exhibition of the Amendment commences on Thursday 7 September and closes on Monday 9 October 2017.

Any person who may be affected by the Amendment may make a submission to the planning authority. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the Amendment is supported or opposed.

Next Steps

Following the close of the exhibition period, a report will be prepared for Council to consider all submissions and, if required, to request an independent Panel to consider the Amendment and submissions.
