Activity Centres Strategy

Council is preparing a Stonnington-wide Activity Centres Strategy for our retail and commercial centres.

The Strategy will set out a strategic framework for the future capacity for growth as well as identifying the economic, social and community role of individual activity centres. It will focus on identifying opportunities to improve the public realm with landscaping and enhancing walking and cycling access.

The Activity Centres Strategy will include an overarching plan for the balance of Council’s activity centres with a focus on neighbourhood activity centres.

  • Council’s first stage of consultation concluded in September 2015. Information gathered through this process informed the preparation of the Draft Activity Centres Strategy.
  • Council’s second stage of consultation on the Draft Activity Centres Strategy is expected to be undertaken in the second half of 2017.
