Temporary Food Application for Events

A Temporary Food Application is required for food sold or served at community events, such as, festivals, markets, single temporary stalls, fetes or sausage sizzles.

Trading within City Of Stonnington

Applications for Community Groups:

1. Submit the application form –  Notification for Community Group Temp Food Premises (227.50 KB)

2. Submit with your application - pages 2, 3 & 25 of the   Events Food Safety Program Documents (1.28 MB)

3. Keep and maintain pages 26 & 27 of the Events Food Safety Program on site on the day of the event.

Applications for Non-Community Groups:

  1. Submit the application forms –

a.  Application to Register Temp Food Premises (409.50 KB)AND

b. Statement of Trade –  For Mobile Food Premises including vans and trailers (124.50 KB),  OR   For Tents/Marquees/Stall (138.50 KB). Please include your postal address with Statement of Trade.

2. Submit with your application - pages 2, 3 & 25 of the   Events Food Safety Program Documents (1.28 MB)

3. Keep and maintain pages 26 & 27 of the Events Food Safety Program on site on the day of the event.

Trading outside City Of Stonnington

For any registered food businesses in City of Stonnington wishing to trade in another council, please submit the following form.

Statement of Trade –  For Mobile Food Premises including vans and trailers (124.50 KB),  OR  For Tents/Marquees/Stall (138.50 KB). Please include postal address with Statement of Trade.

 

Applications will not be processed without the required documents.

Applications should be submitted to the City of Stonnington's Environmental Health Unit at least two weeks prior to the event.

Fee Structure

There is no fee charged on applications made by not-for-profit organisations, community groups and registered food businesses. Please submit a copy of your current Food Act Certificate of Registration with your application.

Other Approvals

You may also require a Local laws permit for street stalls. Contact the Local Laws Unit on 8290 2044.

If your event is part of a large community event or festival on public grounds, you must also contact Council's Events Unit on 8290 1130.

Cooking, including BBQs, is strictly prohibited on public footpaths unless approval is granted from Local Laws Unit.
