Showerhead Exchange Program

Council is working in partnership with South East Water, Yarra Valley Water and City West Water to distribute water efficient showerheads within the community.

Water efficient showerheads are one of the cheapest and most effective ways to cut household water use. Water efficient showerheads can also save up to $60 per year on water and energy bills.

This program is available to all South East Water, Yarra Valley Water and City West Water customers.

To receive your free showerhead, bring your old showerhead(s), with your water bill to the Service Centre at either Prahran Town Hall or Stonnington City Centre (Malvern Town Hall) between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm, weekdays. As this is an exchange program, showerheads can only be obtained by handing over your old showerhead(s).

Prahran Town Hall is located corner Chapel Street and Greville Street, Prahran.

Stonnington City Centre (Malvern Town Hall) is located corner Glenferrie Road and High Street, Malvern.

Before you exchange your showerhead, please note:

• Three star rated showerheads are not compatible with gravity fed, or some older instantaneous hot water systems; 
• Renters require consent from the property owner prior to exchanging their showerhead and must use a licenced plumber; and 
• By choosing to participate in the showerhead exchange program, you will not be able to get your original showerhead back once exchanged.
