Facilities Description

The Malvern Community Arts Centre (MCAC) facility comprises a main hall and kitchenette. The venue offers the privacy and space required for group meetings and small production rehearsals. The ballet barre around the perimeter of the hall and timber floor makes the venue ideal for dance classes. In accordance with current regulations the Centre is a non-smoking venue.

$19.50 per hour (inc GST)

Please Note: Individuals, companies and groups without current Public Liability Insurance must add an Insurance Fee of $11 per booking to the charges listed above.

Due to its residential location the Malvern Community Arts Centre Hall may be hired between 8.30am and 10.30pm seven days per week.

Hirers are responsible for leaving the venue clean and tidy and must place any rubbish in the bin in the kitchen. At the end of their booking it is requested that hirers return all equipment to where is was found.

Booking Arrangements

Following an enquiry, hirers can make a tentative booking prior to inspecting the venue. Due to demand, tentative bookings can be held for up to one week only. After which time, bookings are cancelled without notice.

After visiting the venue, hirers must contact Council's Halls Unit to confirm the booking. At this time an Application for Hire package will be forwarded to the hirer. The hirer must complete and return the Application for Hire form together with full payment within 14 days. Failure to so may result in the booking being cancelled.

Hirers are required to contact Council's Halls Unit the week prior to the booking to arrange key collection from the Malvern Town Hall.

Catering & Kitchen Facilities

Hirers are responsible for arranging catering. The kitchenette is equipped with  a domestic gas stove, pie warmer, domestic 'fridge and sink is available. Hirers are required to supply their own crockery, cutlery etc.

 Lighting & Power Supply

The venue is equipped with standard overhead lighting and 6 power points (located 2 on back wall and 4 on side walls).

Heating & Cooling

The venue has floor-ducted heating and ceiling fans.

Walls

Sticking of any paper or any other material to the paintwork is not permitted.

Car Parking

10 carparks are available on-site at the back of the venue (access via rear lane) with additional parking along Bourke Rd at most times of the day. Nearby streets also offer free parking.

Tram 3 (Waverley Rd) and Driver Bus Lines #624 (Kew to Oakleigh Station) provide easy public transport access.

Disabled Access

Disabled access is provided via the ramp at the front entrance to the venue.
