Meeting Room Hire

Stonnington Library + Information Service has bookable spaces within each of its four libraries for community and commercial use.

Library meeting rooms offer private and quiet spaces and are ideal for meetings, seminars, training sessions and workshops.

They are well equipped with kitchenette facilities. They are available for hire during library opening hours, including early evenings and weekends. Our hourly rates are very competitive.

Bookings

Our meeting rooms are in high demand. To avoid disappointment, please submit your booking date/s in advance.

You may book up to ten hours per week. Feel free to visit our libraries and view our meeting rooms prior to booking.

Please contact the libraries direct to make a suitable inspection time. For more information about our meeting rooms, including conditions of hire and fees, or to make a booking please contact us by phone or email.

All bookings will be confirmed in writing.

Fees and Charges

Effective 1 July 2017  

Non-profit Organisations

$16.50 per hour or part thereof

Commercial Organisations     $33.50 per hour or part thereof
Public Liability Insurance $11 per reservation

 

Public Liability Insurance

All hirers are required to be covered by Public Liability Insurance. Individuals, companies and groups holding Public Liability Insurance must provide a current copy of the Certificate of Currency with their application. Those without Public Liability Insurance must be covered under the Casual Hirer’s Insurance Cover through City of Stonnington, by paying an additional fee of $11 per booking.

Our venues

Our libraries are well served by public transport, with trams and/or train stations nearby. On-site car parking is limited however there is some parking available in neighbouring streets.

Access for people with limited mobility is provided via ramps at all building entrances and by passenger lifts at the Malvern and Toorak/South Yarra libraries.

Our rooms come in different sizes and can accommodate the following audience capacities:

Malvern Library :

   20 people

Phoenix Park Library – small room:

15 people

Phoenix Park Library – large room:

35 people

Prahran Library:

40 people

Toorak/South Yarra Library:

100 people

         

 

 

 

 Please note: the above capacities relate to ‘theatre style’ seating.

Equipment supplied at each venue will vary slightly, however includes:

  • Seating and tables
  • Whiteboard
  • Domestic refrigerator and dishwasher
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Crockery and glassware

Wifi is available at all venues and is free to library members. Please see our staff for more information or join online.

You are welcome to make your own arrangements for audiovisual equipment and catering.
