In-Home Support Services

Stonnington Aged Services In-Home Support provides a range of services to assist eligible residents maintain their health, safety, and independence. These services are provided by skilled and experienced staff who are dedicated to assist people to maintain quality of life and independence. 

Home Care

Provides practical household assistance to help maintain a safe, healthy and hygienic home environment.  Assistance is based on individual need with tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning general living areas, bathroom and toilet cleaning.  This service operates Monday to Friday.

Personal Care

Assists eligible clients with daily living tasks they would normally do for themselves, but because of illness, disability or frailty, require assistance to perfomr these tasks safely. The service operates seven days a week and tasks may include assistance with showering, dressing, grooming and meal preparation.  Where possible the service assists clients to regain these abilities.

Respite Care

Provides support for the primary carer of a frail older or disabled person (any age) to have a planned break from their caring role and responsibilities. This service provides an opportunity for carers to participate in family, social, recreational, personal or community activities. Respite care is provided within the home.

Eligibility

In Home Support services are available to eligible City of Stonnington residents. Services are targeted towards frail older people, people with a disability, and the carers of both. Eligibility and access to services is subject to a number of factors. Services are allocated to eligible residents according to assessed and prioritised need.

Residents can contact Council's Aged Services Department directly, or be referred by someone else (with consent) such as a family member, friend, health professional or community organisation.
