Separate Rate

What is a separate rate?

The Separate rate were declared under the provisions of the 1958 Local Government Act, generally speaking they were used to fund the provision of public car parks. There are no active separate rates in existence and there can be no new ones. If there were to be scheme to provide public car parking it would be done under the provisions of the special rate legislation.
