Race Around Stonnington

About the Race

Race Around Stonnington is an annual event for young people aged 11-15, organised by Youth Services in partnership with the Teenage Holiday Program.  This event will not be running in 2012, however please check this page for updated information, or contact Youth Services on 8290 7020.

Running since 2007, The Race Around Stonnington is an event similar to the popular TV series The Amazing Race, and aims to show young people some of the services available to them in and around the City of Stonnington, while at the same time providing an active and entertaining event for young people during the school holidays.

Participants work in groups of four to five to navigate between various locations, relying on their skills and knowledge of the area, in addition to clues provided by the Stonnington Youth Council. Armed with maps, metcards, clues and sunscreen, groups visit as many destinations as possible and complete activities at each check point to score points and arrive at the final destination before the other teams.

Each team will be racing against the others to reach the highest number of checkpoints, complete allocated tasks and aim to score the highest points before returning to Malvern Town Hall at the end of the competition. There will be prizes for the teams who come in first, second and third place, based on the number of points they score throughout the day. In addition to these prizes, all participants will receive a gift bag.
