Opera In The Park

Opera in the Park is a free concert held in one of the municipality's most beautiful parks - Victoria Gardens, Prahran annually. It consists of two hours of popular excerpts from opera and musical theatre performed by professional opera singers, up and coming talent and an orchestrina (normally about 8-15 members).

Opera in the Park has become a very well established and much loved event over a number of years and is part of the Stonnington season of signature events.

Some Enchanted Opera 2009

For the 2009 Opera in the Park concert a large crowd was treated to performances by some of Melbourne's finest operatic artists. Opera in the Park offfered an entertaining and educational program not just for Opera devotees, but for those who were new to the art form. The night brought to life an enchanting array of works with the music of Mozart, Delibes, Bizet, Rossini, Strauss and Puccini.
