Stonnington Jazz is the most anticipated event on the jazz calendar. Proudly presenting 100% Australian artists, the festival features both established and emerging jazz musicians performing the spectrum of styles that the jazz genre encompasses. Stonnington Jazz 2009 program was filled once again with 100% Australian talent. It was our most diverse and exciting program yet! Concerts were held at both Malvern Town Hall and Chapel Off Chapel with fantastic audiences enjoying a range of great Australian artists.

Highlights included:
- Two sellout shows of Vince Jones & Friends with some of the many brilliant musicians who have worked with him over the past three decades including Sam Keevers, Paul Grabowsky, Wilbur Wilde & Dale Barlow.
- Two Concerts by brilliant Sydney trumpeter Phil Slater interpreting the music of Peter Sculthorpe (Songbook) with a great line-up of Sydney jazz musicians, plus the Silo String Quartet, Tim Freedman & Katie Noonan from the Whitlams.
- The Grabowsky/Washington Project featuring original songs at Malvern Town Hall was fantastic with jazz septet -Jamie Oehlers, Shannnon Barnett and Steve Magnusson.
- Old and New Dreams with Don Burrows and Allan Browne - including Steve Sedergreen, Geoff Kluke, Dave Palmer. Special appearances by young musicians - The Stonnington Youth Jazz initiative and The Megahorns.
- Kutcha Edwards with a Faculty of the VCA and Music Showcase - Ensemble Mundo and Ensemble Tonos played at Chapel Off Chapel
- Bennett Lane Big Band Plays Andrea Keller and Gian Slater was a fantastic night at Chapel Off Chapel.
- Jex Saarelaht Quartet and Inside out featuring Paul Williamson
- Stepen Magnusson Quartet, Tony Gould Trio
- Chris McNulty & Paul Bollenback, Michelle Nicolle Septet
- Nichaud Fitzgibbon 'Mood Swing', Frock plays 'The Father, The Son & The Holy Ghost ' Melbourne Quintet
- Stonnington City Brass with Jex Saarelaht at Malvern Town Hall
