Harold Holt Swim Centre Redevelopment
The City of Stonnington has finalised new plans for the redevelopment of the iconic Harold Holt Swim Centre. 
In response to feedback received from the community, pool users and stakeholders on the Centre's redevelopment, Council has enhanced its plans to incorporate many new initiatives, including:
- Upgrade of the existing outdoor spa and shelter
- Redesign of the accessible changerooms beside the hydrotherapy pool
- Redesign of the width, length and depth of the hydrotherapy pool to optimise its use
- Extension of the hydrotherapy pool's access ramp and provision of new windows
- Relocation of the male and female changerooms and improvement of their security
- Minimisation of the lengths of travel to the female changeroom and outdoor changeroom
- Separation of the path from the external toddler's pool by provision of a dwarf barrier wall
- Redesign of the leisure pool to optimise its use and provision of sunshade protection
- Provision of an extra emergency escape route from the gymnasium
- Allowance for a generous amount of removable seating around the indoor pools
- Investigation into the possible future use and refurbishment/redevelopment of the diving tower and pool as a separate project to the redevelopment. Council has allocated $100,000 this year to undertake the investigation
The improved Harold Holt Swim Centre will provide patrons with a broad range of recreational, health and leisure opportunities.
The exciting new redevelopment plans include:
- Conservation of the Centre's heritage significance and 'pool in the park' amenity
- Energy efficient, environmentally sustainable plant, equipment and systems
- Extra program facilities and services, including a new gymnasium
- Improved access and facilities for older people, and people with disabilities
- A new hydrotherapy pool with a ramp for dignified access
- A new indoor leisure pool that is linked to indoor and outdoor toddler pools
- A new sauna, indoor spa and outdoor spa/shelter
- Improved entry and reception area with ground floor access
- An extensive range of changeroom facilities
- On-site childcare facilities
- Functional layout improvements and new safety features
