Location/Access
The Stonnington History Centre is accessible by appointment.
Restricted Access Material
Some material because of its confidentiality, rarity or fragility may be placed on restricted access. Viewing and reproduction permission is given at the discretion of staff.
Public Access Material
Any material contained in the collection which does not fall into the restricted access category will be made accessible to the public for research purposes by appointment at the Archives.
Where possible, copies of rare or fragile access material will be produced for Public Access.
Loans
Items in the Stonnington History Centre collection may be lent to other instutions at the discretion of staff, and according to loan conditions

Conditions of Access & Reproductions
- A fee will be charged for research beyond the first ten minutes of an enquiry, and for reproduction of any item in the collection.
- The Local History Officer provides research information which is believed to be current and accurate at the time of the research request, and cannot be held responsible for any subsequent contradictory research findings.
- Any member of the public accessing the Stonnington History Centre to conduct their own research must be under the supervision of the Local History Officer and act according to preservation handling and other procedures outlined by the Officer.
- Persons wishing to reproduce or publish rare or original material must submit an application on the appropriate form. This form requires identification of each item and special details relating to the manner in which the item is to be used or reproduced.
- When permission is given to use or reproduce material from the Stonnington History Centre, the source of the material MUST be acknowledged in the manner specified by the Local History Officer. The Local History Officer reserves the right to refuse permission to reproduce any item based on the value, rarity or physical condition of the item.
