The City of Stonnington is a vibrant and progressive city, home to 87,412 residents with a diverse range of backgrounds.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 18 per cent of the population in the State of Victoria has a diagnosed disability. This represents 15,734 people in Stonnington alone.
The City of Stonnington is committed to the continual improvement of its premises, facilities and services to ensure that they are universally accessible to all people.
To ensure that there is a coordinated response to disability issues, Council employs a Disability Access Officer to provide information to the community, Council officers and to Council itself pertaining to legislative requirements, public policy, available resources and social expectations on issues that impact people with disabilities.
