Monash-CityLink-Westgate Upgrade: Traffic Noise Modelling

Recently, VicRoads and Project Alliance presented Stonnington Council with a traffic noise modelling presentation regarding the CityLink upgrades. The Council has been given permission to present this to the Stonnington residents.

Council has expressed concern regarding two areas of the presentation:

1. The noise standard being adopted in the Monash Freeway section is higher than that adopted for the CityLink section of the project,

2. The project only replaces noise walls when they are physically impacted by the widening works, irrespective of whether noise modelling indicates noise leve will be exceeded 

Project Alliance has advised no changes are permitted under the project scope.
