Playgrounds

Playgrounds provide hours of fun and can be combined with a picnic or bike ride to make a great day out. Stonnington has over 50 playgrounds to choose from ranging in size from small playgrounds in residential parks including Viva Street Reserve and McArthur Street Playground to larger adventure playgrounds including Prahran Adventure Playground, Phoenix Park and Penpraze Park.

Playgrounds are designed to suit children up to 12 years old and are regularly upgraded to meet current Australian Playground Standards. For locations of playgrounds visit the Facilities Available pages on this website.

While Council officers conduct weekly inspections to ensure the municipality's playgrounds are properly maintained, damaged playground equipment that is reported to Council enables prompt attention and risk minimisation.  If you notice a playground that is damaged or being misused, please call Council's Service Centre on 8290 1333 or visit the Contact Council page and complete the Make a Request Form.
