A Decent Exposure
A photographic exhibition as part of the Stonnington Seniors Festival
Until 12 November 2009
Part of a Victorian Government's statewide event, we are proud to be joining in the photographic competition and exhibition A Decent Exposure. Local residents were encouraged to submit a photograph that promotes aging and getting older as a positive time in an individual's life. The Stonnington exhibition will coincide with the Victorian Seniors Festival exhibition. During the month visitors to the exhibitions will be asked to vote on their favourite photograph. The Stonnington People's Choice Award will be awarded by popular vote to the most popular photographic entry by a Stonnington resident over the age of 60. The award will be announced at the end of the exhibition. This exhibition will also be at Chapel Off Chapel Galleries.

Peg Goode
Wandering and Wondering with Watercolour
September 2009
Peg is a Stonnington local who after a career in librarianship became a painter.
In her own words: 'Wandering and wondering with watercolours. Yes, I have certainly been wandering - painting trips to France, Italy and in Australia - both in cities and the countryside and of course by the sea.
I have been fortunate in my journey to have had the privilege of taking part in groups led by Charles Reid, Robert Wade, Clifton Pugh, Mirka Mora and Maz Angus and travels all over.
The incredible colours, the sky so high, the sheer space which is such a part of Central Australia can be contrasted with the green lushness and the orange coloured rocks of Tasmania's inland and coastal scenery. Such beauty is both inspiring and intimidating.

Further Information for Applicants to exhibit
The City of Stonnington invites proposals from curators, groups or individual artists interested in utilising the exhibition area. Exhibitions should specifically hold some significance for the local community.
While not limited to the following, proposals could include art by local artists, art by local arts groups or art which explores issues affecting the Stonnington community. The space is most appropriate for exhibitions of two-dimensional work.
Interested exhibitors should contact Council's Cultural Development Department on 8290 1180 to check the availability of suitable dates and discuss potential exhibitions. Please also note the attachments 'Information for Exhibitors' and 'Application to Exhibit' which will need to be filled out and forwarded to the Culture Development & Events Department.
