Program Information
A vital life skill
In a country where 90% of the population live on or near the coast, knowing how to swim is an important skill of life. In the Harold Holt Learn to Swim Program we start them young!
Babies & Pre-School
Toddlers aged 6 months and pre-school children first learn confidence by having fun in the aquatic environment. Toddlers begin with water familiarization and activities in the comfort of their parent's arms.
School Age
Students of school age learn the basics of water safety. They progress up through different levels, as they master various swim strokes and enhance their skills and knowledge of the water.
Squads
When students reach squad level, swim coaches take over to refine techniques, improve fitness and practice drills. Teamwork and friendships are also forged.
Our Swim Teachers
Our professional Learn To Swim Team is AUSTSWIM Qualified. They create an encouraging and positive learning environment, ensuring your child learns to the best of their ability.
Lesson Times
Our Learn to Swim Program operates 7 days per week and follows the 4 Government school terms. Lessons for infants from 6 months & pre-school aged children are conducted mornings from 9am to 12pm. School age children are held Monday to Friday 4pm to 6pm, and on weekends 9am to 1pm. There is limited availability for pre-school age students at these popular after school times.
Adult Lessons
It's never too late to learn! Children aren't the only ones to benefit from knowing how to swim. Adult lessons are available during the evening. Once you learn how to swim, it's also a great way to stay fit.
Private Lessons
Some students prefer 1 on 1 private lessons. This is a very effective method of swim instruction. Places are limited, so call the Centre for availability.
Assessments
For new students with some swimming experience (or even if you are unsure of your child's level) a free assessment is essential to place them into their correct class level. Contact reception for assessment days and times.
Unable to attend?
The Learn To Swim Program is conducted on a term basis. Once booked into a term of lessons, that position in the class is then unavailable to other students, so there are no replacement lessons or refunds. For extenuating circumstances, a free family swim pass may be offered.
Lesson Duration & Course Fees
Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and are offered on a term basis. Please see the price list for current fees. Fees are paid in full at time of Booking. We accept Credit Card, EFTPOS, Cheque and Cash.
