Council Budget 2011 - 2012

Council adopted the 2011/2012 Budget at its ordinary meeting on Monday 6 June 2011.

The Budget relates to the financial year commencing 1 July 2011 and:

  1. Discloses that as at 30 June 2011 the total amount borrowed is $3,364,000;
  2. Proposes no new borrowings for 2011/2012;
  3. Projects a total amount of $677,000 be repaid during the financial year;
  4. Projects that as at 30 June 2012 the total amount of Council borrowings will be $2,687,000;
  5. Projects that the cost of servicing Council borrowings during the financial year will be $235,000;
  6. Proposes that a general rate of 0.1148 percent of Capital Improved Value be declared;
  7. Proposes that a Cultural and Recreational Land rate of 0.08610 percent of Capital Improved Value be declared;
  8. Proposes that no municipal charge be declared; and
  9. Proposes that an annual service charge be declared for the weekly collection and disposal of refuse, and that the unit cost of this charge be as follows:
120 litre garbage receptacle (or less)                  $192.05
240 litre garbage receptacle $348.50
Shared bins receive a discount of $6.00 per bin     $186.05
Shared Bin Discount - 120 Litre (50% discount) – Residential     $96.00
120 litre garden waste receptacle (or less)                       $75.20
240 litre garden waste receptacle   $101.65

Budget Activities quarterly reporting

Council's Budget Activities are presented annually in the Council Plan.   The progress of the Budget Activities throughout the financial year is reported each financial quarter.
