Electoral Representation Review

As required under State law, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC ) is undertaking an independent Electoral Representation Review of the Stonnington City Council.

As part of the review, the VEC will make a recommendation to the Minister for Local Government on:

• The appropriate number of Councillors

• Whether the City should be un-subdivided or divided into wards

• If the City is to be divided into wards, how many wards should there be, the number of Councillors per ward and the ward boundaries.

An information session for residents was held on Wednesday 16 February 2011 with preliminary submissions on at 5pm on Tuesday 1 March 2011. Submissions on the preliminary report are due on Wednesday 20 April 2011.
