Profile
Cr Ullin is a Company Director
What attracted you to Council?
I feel that Local Government is the most important and creative level of Government and felt my business experience would be valuable. Being a Councillor also enables me to give back to the community.
What do you look forward to achieving during your term?
- Providing strong leadership and standing up for major issues confronting Stonnington;
- Introducing more environmental initiatives because we need to take urgent action to combat climate change; and
- Continuing to aggressively protect the viability of our shopping strips and residential amenity by opposing clearway extensions.
What do you think are some of the major issues facing Council?
- Opposing any attempt by the State Government to intervene in local planning policies, particularly through the proposed Development Assessment Committees which will strip Local Government of its powers;
- Advocating for greater police presence on Chapel Street to reduce violence and provide a safe neighbourhood;
- Resolving the myriad parking issues, which confront residents every day;
- Advocating at State and Federal level to resist any further cost shifting to Local Government Supporting Council staff in developing sound management principles and secure financials; and
- There are many other issues and many more will arise during the term.
