Changes to services

Following the Victorian Government's announcement of a reduction in COVID-19 restrictions from 11 June, we'll be reopening public facing services, programs and facilities as safe and allowed within the restrictions.

Aged services and in-home care: Changed

Service changes effective from 11.59pm Thursday 17 June 2021


Community Transport: Service is operating operating for shopping services and local events. However, passenger numbers have been limited. Please contact the Community Transport Leader on 8290 3349 for details.


Stonnington Engaged: Programs have returned, however places are limited. Please check with the Engaged team on 8290 3337 for specific details. For more details check out the Engaged program.  Don't forget to continue to join us for our online programs that will be running as normal.


Chris Gahan Centre: Community lunch is being served Monday to Friday.  There will be a maximum of 10 places available. Please book with the team on 8290 7120 prior to arrival. 


Phoenix Park Community Centre: Community lunch will be back on Wednesday 23 June.  There will be a maximum of 10 places available. Please book with the team on 8290 7120 prior to arrival. 


Grattan Gardens Community Centre: Open for limited programs, and a limit of 10 people per group. Please contact 8290 1460 to enquire.


Prahran Community Learning Centre: Open for classes (except for exercises) Please check in with Prahran Community Learning  Centre on (03) 9510 7052.


 

Aquatics: Partially re-open

Prahran Aquatic Centre will be fully re-open from Friday 11 June with limited numbers in the spa, sauna and steam area based on density quotients. Masks are required while in indoor areas only.

Harold Holt Swim Centre will be re-open in all areas from Friday 11 June with the below in place to ensure compliance with restrictions.

Outdoor areas will be fully re-open.

Indoor areas will be re-open with 50 people permitted inside at a time. Casual lap swimmers can use the indoor pool but 'play' will not be reintroduced at this stage. The warm water pool (therapy) will operate within the 50 person limit.

Gym open with caps on number of people allowed (staff will monitor this).

Learn to swim classes are on hold while we seek more information from the Victorian Government.

Membership direct debits will return from Friday 18 June

Chapel Off Chapel: Changed

Chapel Off Chapel is closed for the Queen's Birthday long weekend.

All shows to the upcoming Melbourne Caberet Festival will be part of an updated schedule on Monday 14 June.

All shows will open one hour prior to the scheduled performance time until restrictions reduce further/

Community sport: Changed

Community and local sporting clubs can use City of Stonnington faciliites to train but competition is not allowed until restrictions ease further. 

Early education and child care services: Open

Open with strict protocols in place.

Immunisation: Open

Pre-booked immunisation sessions continuing with strict protocols in place.

Libraries and History Centre: Changed

Our library buildings are open but visit numbers and lengths are capped to help operate within restrictions, all events will be presented online until restrictions ease further. Read more

 

Malvern Valley Golf Course (MVGC): Open

Malvern Valley Golf Course will re-open on Friday 11 June with caps on the number of people on the course and in indoor areas at a time. Contact MVGC directly for information: 9568 4433.

Maternal and Child Health Service: Open

Maternal and Child Health booked appointments and home visits continuing with strict protocols in place.

Middle Years and Youth Services: Changed

Offices and Prahran Hub closed to public, with The Hub and youth programs moved online.

The Hub Community Soccer Program will recommence face to face on Friday 18 June.

Families and young people can access support via phone, video chat or email.

Parks, ovals and open space: Open

Remain open but please use within Victorian Government guidelines.

While people spend more time closer to home we've increased the number of bins and collections at parks and gardens right across Stonnington.

Waste, cleaning and recycling: Business as usual

Household collections to continue as normal.

Waste Transfer Station is open to general public, but access to the station may take longer than usual due to social distancing measures in place.
