Our facilities and services have closed or changed in line with Victorian Government restrictions. People are required to have a face covering to access our early education and maternal and child health services and waste transfer station.

Car parks  

The public car parks in MacFarlan Street, South Yarra and King Street, Prahran are closed for casual users.

Chapel Off Chapel
  The venue is currently closed. No need to venture out to get intimate with Chapel's artists. They are bringing artists direct to your living room with their Check in with Chapel series. Child care (early years services)  

Our early years services is open for vulnerable children and children of permitted workers.

Community Centres and RSL   All City of Stonnington community centres, recreation centres, sports pavilions and the Prahran RSL are closed. CLOSED

Footy goal posts    All football goal posts on all City of Stonnington parks remain in place. UNCHANGED

Hard Waste Collection  

The Spring hard waste collection, due to start on 1 September, has been delayed.

Subject to restrictions easing, we are working with our waste contractor to reschedule the collection to start in October/November.

The Stonnington History Centre is closed.

Immunisations
  Our immunisation program is being delivered out of Malvern Town Hall only. All immunisations must be pre-booked online. Adults and children aged 12 or over are required to wear a face covering to access the program, children aged under 12 are not required to wear a face covering.  CHANGED
Libraries
 

A click and collect service is available.

Reserve items on the catalogue and once allocated, contact the libraries to book a time to pick-up your items. 

Return chutes will be open from 19 September at Malvern, Phoenix Park and Toorak/South Yarra libraries. There’s no need to rush to return items as all items are being renewed automatically. Overdue charges do not apply.

A library home delivery service is available to vulnerable members of the Stonnington community.

A range of online library services are available, including an extensive digital library. To access the digital library become a member.

Maternal and child health   

Developmental assessments, consultations and parent support groups are continuing via phone and online. 15-minute face-to-face appointments are available to families with babies aged up to four months or with high needs. Cleaning and social distancing measures are in place in accordance with Department of Health and Human Services guidelines.

Adults and children aged 12 or over are required to wear a face covering to access the service, children aged under 12 are not required to wear a face covering.

Parks  

All City of Stonnington parks, gardens, open spaces and reserves are open. If visiting one of our 50+ parks (including sports grounds, open spaces and ovals) practice social distancing and follow the Victorian Government's 8pm curfew. 

If the park you visit is crowded please visit another one.

Park facilities    Fitness equipment, skate parks, basketball courts, cricket nets, barbecues - all closed. CLOSED 
Playgrounds    All playgrounds are open.  OPEN 
Pools (aquatic centres)    The Harold Hold Swim Centre (including the gym) and Prahran Aquatic Centre are closed.  CLOSED 
Prahran Square    Prahran Square is open, including the car park and the public toilets. If visiting Prahran Square please practice responsible social distancing by keeping 1.5m away from others.  OPEN 
    Prahran Square organised events and activities are cancelled until further notice. CANCELLED 
Sporting club facilities   

All sporting club facilities, pavilions are closed.

Sports grounds  

Sports grounds and ovals remain open. To extend hours people can comfortably exercise, we are leaving the floodlights on from 5 to 8.45pm Monday to Friday at:

  • Basil Oval in Malvern East
  • Como Park in South Yarra
  • Malvern Cricket Ground
  • Orrong Park in Prahran
  • Waverley Park in Malvern East

Street sweeping    Our street sweeping service is operating as normal  UNCHANGED 
Tennis courts    Public tennis courts are closed. CLOSED
Toilets    All public toilets are open. Cleaning protocols are in accordance with Department of Health and Human Services guidelines  OPEN 
Tree management    All tree management services (planting, pruning, removal) will continue as normal.  UNCHANGED 
Tree works permit    Tree assessment and issue of Tree Works Permits (for works on private land) is not available under Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions.  CANCELLED
Waste and recycling collections   

Our waste and recycling services are operating as normal. Please continue to place your bin out on your usual day. Collection times may differ so please do not be concerned if your bin is not collected at the usual time.
