Midsumma makes its sparkling return to Stonnington, with a glamorous, show-stopping lineup of queer performances arriving at the iconic Chapel Off Chapel and The MC Showroom. 

Midsumma Festival is Australia’s premier LGBTQIA+ festival, celebrating queer artists, communities and audiences with a jam-packed lineup of performances and events. Celebrating both hidden and mainstream queer culture, Midsumma provides an opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ community to come together, amplifying voices and shaping queer art and culture forever. 

While this year may look different to others, it’s more important than ever to come together and support and celebrate queer performers as they take to the stage again.

Dolly Diamond’s Star for a Night

Much loved star, Dolly Diamond returns to Chapel Off Chapel, converting the iconic venue into a television variety show soundstage. Each night, lucky contestants will be transformed into their favourite idols, making them stars for just a night! Strap in for an exciting night of performances with Dolly!

Scoundrels - A Boylesque Musical

Love, jealousy, betrayal, lust and infidelity run amok in Scoundrels. In a cabaret courtroom, the beautiful Ziegfeld Boys stand trial for the various sins they have committed against one another. This show is a brilliant blend of old world burlesque, musical theatre and clever comedy dipped in sensuality and dusted with sequins.

He’s Every Woman Unlimited 

Justin Clausen and Jamie Burgess take to the stage at The MC Showroom to perform hits from their favourite artists. Featuring songs from the ’80’s to now but mostly Celine! This award winning show will have you laughing and grooving along as the boys perform with sequins, makeup, heels and more!

Protein

After lockdown, Charlie decides to give up pornography and hit the gay dating scene. Sex proves to be a disastrous distraction from self-loathing, and he soon realises that being emotionally unhinged, cynical and bored makes him a difficult romantic candidate. Also, his pet goldfish Bob is horribly depressed. Laugh out loud at this comedy show depicting the search for morality and love in modern adulthood.

Goddess Grooves

A unique lineup of singer/songwriter musicians come to Chapel Off Chapel for an evening of scintillating musical entertainment. Alongside the unique vocals and magical creativity, there will be a sneak preview of Love Rewind by Melbourne filmmakers, Demetra Giannakopoulos, Vicki Jones and Ruth Katerelos.

Goddesses of Jazz

Performers Maude Davey and Ruth Katerelos come together again for a glorious Sunday of cabaret. Accompanied by the amazing Graham Clarke on piano, Maude and Ruth will present their own spin on songs made sensational over the decades by the likes of Nina Simone, Judy Garland, Piaf, Billie Holiday, Madeleine Peyroux, Dusty Springfield, Peggy Lee and more.

Pride March

The closing, signature celebration event for Midsumma, the Pride March will see marchers take to the streets down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda. The City of Stonnington will be marching, celebrating solidarity in gender and sexuality diversity. 

Due to COVID-19 regulations, there are two ways you can watch the Pride March:

  1. Watch the parade from a Fitzroy Street venue.
  2. Live-stream the parade from your home or a participating venue on Fitzroy Street. The stream will begin at approx 10am and conclude approx 2pm.
