Participation in sport, cultural diversity, the arts, the importance of strong community values and support systems, and a keen sense that we have our own contributions to make – these are considered among the key factors in our community identity.  Outstanding achievement or contribution towards our community is the basis of the awards.

The Young Citizen of the Year must be under 26 years of age at 31 July 2019 and volunteer, study or reside in the City of Stonnington.

Persons who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years shall be eligible for the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards.

The ‘Community Group’ award nominees must be a group active within the municipality of at least four members.
