Changing Places is now at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Stonnington’s East Ward.
Changing Places provide full sized changing tables and hoists in major public spaces, which is crucial for families and carers of people living with significant physical disability.
Cr Glen Atwell, Chair of the Access Stonnington Committee, has been an advocate for the inclusion of Changing Places at Chadstone.
“I’ve been a strong advocate to bring Changing Places to Chadstone for a number of years and it’s great to see it happen. I commend Chadstone for delivering on its commitment.”
“Changing Places helps to keep our family connected with the community through the confidence of knowing Ivy can go to the bathroom with dignity. Changing Places are no longer seen as an ‘optional extra’ but necessary facilities to ensure people with severe disabilities and their carers remain socially engaged,” said Cr Atwell.
Chadstone Shopping Centre's Changing Places is located near the fresh food area and will also be included in our exciting Prahran Square when it opens in the coming months.
Seeking feedback on our draft Inclusion Plan
We’re seeking feedback on our draft Inclusion Plan, which outlines our commitment to support people living with a disability, their families and carers to enjoy wellbeing, dignity and social independence and explains how we will act to build a more inclusive community.
