South Yarra Station Upgrade

The State Government has committed $12.33 million for a wider entrance at South Yarra Station and fully accessible tram stops – the first stage of upgrade works at South Yarra Station.

The initial works will widen the station entrance on Toorak Road and redesign the Station layout to provide a larger, more efficient and accessible space for passengers. It will reduce queuing and make for a quicker, smoother entry and exit.

The tram stops opposite the Station will also be upgraded to enable people with a disability to move between the tram stops and the Station safely, sheltered from the wind and rain.

Additionally, Transport for Victoria is working with the local community to plan for the future of the station, and its surrounds, to support South Yarra to grow as a vibrant, innovative and creative business community.

A master plan is being developed to transform the South Yarra station precinct, and will identify medium to long term improvement options for the area.
