Council is investing $3m to deliver improvement works at Harold Holt Swim Centre to ensure the centre meets the needs of our next generation of swimmers and exercise enthusiasts.
These works include retiling pools, replacement of lights with energy efficient LED fittings, accessibility improvements to the outdoor pool, refurbishment of the outdoor change rooms and upgrading spectator seating.
Work on retiling the indoor leisure pool at Harold Holt Swim Centre will start on Tuesday 28 January, this is the next stage of our $3m program of improvement works at the centre.
Learn to swim classes will continue, with lessons moved to our alternative indoor pool and outdoor pool(PDF, 746KB), all classes will remain at the same time.
Patrons will still be able to use the outdoor and indoor pool for lap swimming during this time, however there will be limited space available in the indoor pool due to the extra demand.
If you wish to swim laps in the indoor pool, we recommend planning your visit to avoid anticipated peak times. These are:
- Monday to Friday: 4pm - 7pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 12pm
Both pools will be open as usual outside of these times.
Hoarding around the indoor pool will protect patrons from noise and dust during the works and works are expected to be completed by May.
Dive tower restoration
Following community consultation in mid 2019, feedback is being reviewed and provided to Heritage Victoria to plan the next stage of the proposed restoration of the dive tower at Harold Holt Swim Centre. We hope to have more information about the next steps in early 2020.
