IDoPwD: Inclusive AFL & Wheelchair Rugby Come & Try Day

Active Stonnington in partnership with the City of Monash is hosting an inclusive AFL and wheelchair rugby come and try day at the Orrong-Romanis Recreation Centre, Prahran on Sunday 5 December.

The first session is focused on inclusive AFL, with multiple variations of the game including wheelchair, blind, and FIDA (intellectual impairment) football.
As well as being an opportunity to come and have a try at the game for players, clubs will find the session a valuable opportunity to learn about inclusive football and what resources are available.
Members of the St Kilda Wheelchair Football Club will also be in attendance to support clubs.
The second session is a skill development and game play session for wheelchair rugby.
After much of Australia saw our Steelers in action during the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, it is a great chance for people with a disability to pick up a new sport or get back into organised sporting activity.
Much like the first session, the public is invited to come and learn more about wheelchair rugby and the resources that are available.

Register now via Eventbrite

This activity is part of the International Day of People with Disabilities program presented by the City of Stonnington from 1 to 8 December 2021.
