Women in the workforce - free online program

Next date: Tuesday, 20 April 2021 | 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM

Women in the workforce

Following excellent feedback, we are delighted to host 'Women in the Workforce' virtual seminars once more.

These seminars initially took place in September 2020. Both previous participants and new participants are encouraged to apply.

This free online program will support women whose employment and career have been impacted by COVID-19 to improve their confidence and employment prospects and prepare for when the job market improves.

Delivered initially by experienced mentor, trainer and leader Amanda Blesing, this free program will be provided via Zoom.

Sessions will be interactive with the opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions. The program will be broken into two separate themes:

  1. How to write a winning cover letter
  2. How to win at interviews and land a great role - both face to face and via video

How to write a winning cover letter

Writing cover letters can feel like hard work:

  • it’s challenging to work out what people are really looking for
  • a good cover letter can take an hour or more to write
  • you wonder why you even bother when you hear that sometimes hiring managers and recruiters don’t even read them.

But great cover letters help you build a great business case for brand you, help you fill in any gaps and provide specific and targeted evidence as to why you’d be excellent in the role.

In a highly competitive job market you can’t afford not to write one. Join Amanda to help you write a confident and compelling cover letter that covers all the right information.

Focusing on the right thing is often more important than trying to cover everything when preparing for a job interview.  Amanda’s 4 point winning interview preparation formula will help you prepare far smarter, so that you can give the interview of a lifetime without becoming overwhelmed with nerves.

To ensure that sessions can remain interactive but controlled, enrolment numbers will be limited to 50 people and bookings are essential.

The program is open to everyone but preference will be given to people who live or were recently employed at a workplace in Stonnington.
