What's Your Story? Writing Competition

What’s Your Story? is a writing competition presented by Stonnington Library and Information Service as part of the annual literary festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories.  

The competition closed on 31 August 2021 and winners were announced on Thursday 18 November 2021. 

Congratulations to the winners and to everyone who entered the competition:

Short story - Adult

For: Anyone over the age of 18 years.
Guidelines: 1000 word limit. 
Prize: $500.

Winner: Tiffany Korssen for Counting Pink Planes(PDF, 198KB)  

Poetry – Adult

For: Anyone over the age of 18 years.
Guidelines: Maximum 40 lines. 
Prize: $500.

Winner: Joe Nuttall for Salvage(PDF, 171KB)   

Creative story writing - 5 to 12 years old

For: Students aged 5 to 12 years who live or go to school in Stonnington.
Guidelines: 500 word limit.  The entry can be fiction or inspired by real events experienced by the author.
Prize: $150 book voucher.

Winner: Rupert Wiggins for Just a Few Fins(PDF, 213KB)  

Creative story writing - 13 to 18 years old

For: Students aged 13 to 18 years who live, work or go to school in Stonnington.
Guidelines: 750 word limit.  The entry can be fiction or inspired by real events experienced by the author.
Prize: $250 book voucher.
