Propagating seeds

Learn to grow your own vegies from seed and propagate some fruit trees and herbs using simple techniques. You'll save a small fortune, access unusual varieties and have surplus seedlings to share with your friends and family. There’ll be a special focus on common mistakes to avoid, using free and upcycled materials, plus tips on making your own seed raising mix for better results.

Kat Lavers is the gardener and designer behind The Plummery, a 1/14th acre urban permaculture system that produces almost all the vegies, herbs, fruit and eggs consumed by the household – 428kg in 2018! With a background in permaculture design, teaching and facilitation, her work reconnects people with the land under their feet, and helps them experience the abundance of growing food as well as their role in wider ecosystems.
