With October just around the corner, the City of Stonnington is putting on a month full of events and activities for people to enjoy during the 2018 Victorian Seniors Festival.

City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos, said he is excited about the festival.

“The City of Stonnington offers a rich program of activities for older people year round, but even more so during the Victorian Seniors Festival,” said Cr Stefanopoulos.

“There are multiple activities to choose from including exercise, dancing, musicals, poetry and art.

“Council facilities like Malvern Valley Golf Course and Grattan Gardens Community Centre are hosting special events and the wonderful Prahran Market is holding a foodie tour.

“Clubs and organisations such as U3A Stonnington, Windsor Senior Citizens Club and the Probus Club of Malvern are also hosting events to give people a taste of what they offer.

“That is just a small selection of what is on across Stonnington during the festival.

“Public transport is free for Victorian Seniors Card holders from Sunday 7 October until Sunday 14 October so I encourage people to take a tram, train or bus and get to an event” added Cr Stefanopoulos.

The Stonnington Seniors Festival 2018 program guide has information on how to book for over 130 events, including all-day and multiple day events.

Copies of the program guide are available online, or from Stonnington Council’s service centres and libraries.
