Parent education sessions, building family resilience

Press Release | 7 March 2018

As part of our commitment to providing quality services for Stonnington families, Council will host a series of affordable, monthly parent information sessions starting in March through to October.

With a focus on building family resilience, the yearly program is designed to provide parents/guardians with practical tips and strategies.

Some of the topics include behaviour guidance and building resilience; tricky teens; and supporting children through the transition to better sleeping patterns. The first session is on 14 March.

City of Stonnington Mayor Cr Stefanopoulos believes that our Parent education sessions are great for all families.

“It’s a very popular program with experienced facilitators providing expertise and support to help parents bond with their children, build trusting relationships; and create foundations and frameworks for healthy happy and loving families”, he said.

“There is something for every stage of parenting, for every family,” added Mayor Stefanopoulos.

The annual program helps contribute to the development of Stonnington as an inclusive City that enhances the health and wellbeing of residents, where people can feel safe, socially connected and engaged.
