Press Release | 30 October 2018
The City of Stonnington is seeking feedback on a series of concept site options developed for Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park in Malvern East.
City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos, emphasised this is an important step in the development of a draft masterplan for the park.
“A series of options has been developed in partnership with a project Stakeholder Group, which includes representatives from local residents, current and future sporting and social users of the site and nearby Malvern Valley Primary School,” said Cr Stefanopoulos.
“These options will guide development of a new indoor multipurpose facility, providing much needed participation opportunities for basketball and netball.
“We’re also upgrading facilities for the Chadstone Bowls Club, Chadstone Tennis Club, Chadstone Lacrosse Club and East-Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club who currently use the site.
“Consultation will be in two stages with community feedback and technical reports informing a draft masterplan, which is expected to be completed and presented to the community early next year.
“I encourage anyone interested to let Council know what they think of the four options and help inform our decision of a preferred option,” added Cr Stefanopoulos.
Consultation material will include plans for four options, rendered design images showing how each plan will look from Chadstone Road and Quentin Road, a summary of the Stakeholder Group process to date, and a public open space calculation for each option.
The concept site options, supporting information and community survey will be available from Monday 5 November until Friday 30 November at connectstonnington.vic.gov.au/stadium
