 What is the NDIS?

The NDIS is a new way of delivering services and support to people with a permanent disability in Australia. The Scheme rolled out in the City of Stonnington in April 2018. Under the NDIS, people with a disability, their families and carers will have control over how, when and where their funding is spent. The NDIS is not means tested and has no impact on income support such as the Disability Support Pension and Carers Allowance

What does the NDIS do?

The NDIS provides reasonable and necessary, individualized funded supports and services to all Australians who are born with or acquire a permanent, and significant disability to maximize their independence; develop/maintain their capacity and capability for daily life; and to support their ability to participate in the community and contribute to society.

Who is eligible to access the NDIS?
