Youth Services

 Middle Years and Youth

Like everyone, we are monitoring the evolving situation and will continue to support DHHS as they work to ensure the health and safety of Victorians. This is a serious public health situation and the wellbeing of our community is our number one priority. We have been preparing since Coronavirus threatened to reach Australia, with preventative measures put in place at our youth services, the Hub, libraries, aquatic centres, maternal and child health centres and other public facing facilities. Following the Victorian Government’s declaration of a four week State of Emergency to assist measures to ‘flatten the curve’ of the spread of Coronavirus and give our health system the best chance of managing, some community services, programs and facilities will either close or alter their offering from Wednesday 18 March until Monday 13 April. This timing will be reviewed in line with the evolving situation.

This will include:

  • The Child and Youth Community Hub (the Hub) will close from 9am Wednesday 18 March until 4pm Tuesday 14 April and all programs will be suspended over this time.
  • Middle Years and Youth Services Office will be closed from 5pm on Friday 20 March until 9am Tuesday 14 April. All MYYS staff will be working from home and will continue to be contactable via their email and mobiles. Case management support will continue to be provided via telephone. Please contact Celeste Cody, Youth Services Team Leader for more information.

We will continue to review the operation of our services, programs and facilities to ensure the wellbeing of our community. We have communicated directly with the families and young people impacted by these changes and we will continue to provide regular updates on our social media.

If you are looking for specific up-to-date information or advice about Coronavirus (COVID-19) visit the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) website.
