It’s time to support local business

We're Still Open

Even as we endure a second lockdown, it is more important than ever that the community continues to support local businesses, according to East Ward Councillor Jami Klisaris.

Cr Klisaris said it had been heartening to see familiar restaurants, cafés, bars and retailers back in business insert recently, but the second lockdown period would be tough for business owners and staff.

"Supporting local business creates jobs, keeps our precincts vibrant and attractive and makes Stonnington a great place to live in and visit."

"We have come together once as a community to overcome the health challenge. Now is the time to support local business, which is the lifeblood of any community," Cr Klisaris said.

"When we can once again shop freely, it important that we think local in everything we do – whether eating out, buying clothes, having a haircut, hiring a tradie or doing your tax. These past few months have made me even more conscious of the diversity of our business community – we literally have it all in Stonnington, so why go elsewhere?"
